"Israeli Women in Film" The Main Topic of the 15th Israel Film festival, N.Y.C.

"Israeli Women in Film" is the main topic of the 15th Israel Film Festival whose founder/director is Meir Fenigstein. The Festival will be launched from Feb. 23 to March 11, 1999, at the Clearview Cinemas, 49th Street.

The Festival will show "love at second sight" (director: Michal Bat-Adam), a world premiere "Yom Yom" (Amos Gitai, dir.), "Dangerous Acts" (Shemi Zarhin, dir.), "Circus Palestina" (Eyal Halfon, dir.), "Family Secrets" (Nitza Gonen, dir.) and many others. Also, the Festival will feature many documentaries such as "Hide and Seek" (Iris Rubin, Dir.).

A special ceremony will take place at the opening night in which the legendary film maker Sidney Lumet will present Lia van Leer, with the prestigious lifetime achievement award.

Fenigstein's agency "Israel Fest Foundation" has been running this event for 15 years. The chairman is Armon Milchan and among its co-chairmen are: Ted Turner, Jack Valenti, Steven Spielberg, and many other celebrities of the film industry.
