Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor,

I have noticed in a number of Arab stores a charity box at their counters. It says something like "Holy Land Fund" and has a picture of a small child on it. I have seen it in "The Yeman Cafe" on Atlantic Ave. in Brooklyn and in a grocery store on 7th Ave. at the corner of 14th Street, also in Brooklyn. What I found curious was that, after the most recent wave of Hamas bombings the "holy land charity box" was gone from the 7th Ave. store. When I asked about it they said they did not know anything. My question to you is: Where exactly does the Holy Land Charity Fund go? Who does it support?

Thank you,

Phil Hoff
