Everyone can have a State - except not the Jewish people

We are faced with a topsy-turvy world in which we scratch our heads in disbelief at the incredible double-standard and outright lies and calumny directed at the State of Israel. It seems that the world can’t allow the existence of a Jewish State.
We have a mayoral candidate in New York City who does not seem to like the idea of a Jewish State:
Context: [The candidate] has said that Israel has a right to exist, but has dodged questions about whether that means existing as a Jewish state.
Quote: Pressed during the Democratic mayoral debate in June, [the candidate] said “I believe Israel has the right to exist.”
“As a Jewish state?” the moderator asked.
“As a state with equal rights,” he replied.
Context: During a June interview with the Fox 5 show Good Day New York, [the candidate] explained why he wouldn’t recognize Israel as a “Jewish” state.
Quote: “I’m not comfortable supporting any state that has a hierarchy of citizenship on the basis of religion or anything else … Equality should be enshrined in every country in the world. That’s my belief.” (The Forward).
Now, let’s see – he wants to be the Mayor of the city with probably the second-largest Jewish population in the world – There are about 53 Muslim-majority countries – but that’s not noteworthy apparently – it’s just a Jewish State that is bothersome- maybe like some annoying gnat or perhaps even deeply offensive to this person and others’ beliefs. They just can’t stand it.
The United Nations also seems to buy into this idea given its unending hatred of the State of Israel – we hear Israel being called the “Zionist entity” (for example by Algeria) in debates even in the high and mighty UN Security Council – notice they don’t refer to France as the “French entity” – or Spain as the “Spanish entity” – but Israel is seen as just an entity, despite being a fully sovereign State. The idea is that they want to delegitimize Israel and strip away its sovereignty – with the hopes of destroying it altogether – because truthfully what is a two-State solution anyway? – a plan to destroy and dismantle Israel (like “globalize the intifada”, for example)
Just recently, the UN General Assembly endorsed a landmark declaration concerning the realization of an independent State of Palestine. It’s called the “Endorsement of the New York Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution” but I’d call it – the ‘New York Declaration of the Decline and Demise of the United Nations’. The vote was an astonishing 142 in favor to 10 against (heroes list: Argentina, Hungary, Israel, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Tonga and United States) with 12 abstentions. By the way, Germany voted in favor of this outrage – GERMANY ! Don’t be proud please, Germany – no one will forget what you did to the Jewish people during the Holocaust – and no amount of reparations can repair what you have done with this vote at the UNGA. SHAME ON GERMANY!
The UN New York Declaration “commits to taking tangible, timebound, and irreversible steps for the peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine and the implementation of the two-State solution, and to achieve, through concrete actions, as rapidly as possible, the realization of an independent, sovereign, economically viable and democratic State of Palestine living side by side, in peace and security with Israel. It also condemns the attacks committed by Hamas against civilians on 7 October, the attacks by Israel against civilians in Gaza and civilian infrastructure, and the siege and starvation, which have resulted in a devastating humanitarian catastrophe” (UN PRESS RELEASE) – This nonsense would be laughable except that it is real – “irreversible”? – what in this world is “irreversible”? Recall President Clinton’s remarks that he offered Arafat a deal that he refused for a Palestinian State on virtually all the land in Gaza, West Bank and East Jerusalem! (That’s because he wanted ALL of Israel – no secret there).
Oh yes, France has spearheaded this horrific action – France which perpetrated a violent war against Algeria and its people – I don’t remember anyone pressuring France to provide humanitarian aid to the Algerian people. Yet France is the champion of Gaza and the critic of Israel’s behavior. Frightening – France should deserve a slap in the face for what it is doing!
Let’s get this straight right now before we go further – Israel is not starving the people of Gaza – that’s a grim fairy tale made up by the execrable New York Times, and Israel is certainly not committing genocide. If you don’t believe me, read the dissenting opinion of Judge Sebutinde (Ugandan Judge) at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). She says that nowhere in international law or in the ICJ’s decisions is there a basis for condemning Israel for genocide! Remember the Holocaust – that was a Genocide! Not Israel in Gaza – that’s just a CALUMNY!
Those 142 countries who voted for this nefarious resolution should erect an international mirror to look into before criticizing the State of Israel which has tried its best again a monstrous, non-human (not even in-human) enemy – whose thirst for Jewish blood is insatiable – has tried to provide humanitarian aid, only to have it stolen by Hamas (which is denied by the UN and its acolytes)!
“’Shame on you,’ the representative of Israel said, prior to the adoption of [the] Declaration. ‘This meaningless political maneuver takes place while innocent people remain blindfolded in Gaza’s tunnels, starved, tortured, waiting,’ he added…The Declaration undermines negotiations and benefits only Hamas, he said. Pointing to France’s recent pledge recognizing Palestinian statehood, he noted that Hamas welcomed ‘the political and moral pressure it puts on Israel’. ‘When terrorists are the ones cheering you, you have to ask yourself what you are doing,’ he stated”. “Along similar lines, the representative of the United States described the text as “a misguided, ill-timed publicity stunt” that undermines serious diplomatic efforts as well as a “gift to Hamas”. (UN PRESS RELEASE)
By the way, a slight digression – what kind of international system allows Qatar to give refuge to these Hamas monsters – and then, when Israel takes action against the leaders of Hamas who perpetrated October 7th, then Qatar comes running to the US and the UN upset – HEY QATAR - why were those Hamas creatures in Qatar in the first place? There is no refuge in criminal law or international law for murderers – and Hamas is not any different.
And Iran – crying as a victim at the UN about the attacks by Israel and the US on its attempts to develop a nuclear weapon ! -Nuclear Weapon mind you – and by the way – why does Iran with huge energy resources need nuclear energy as they claim for peaceful purposes? – This is fit for a comedy show – yet that show takes place, not at a New York comedy club, but at the center of world farce, the UN Security Council.
Listen to what Danny Danon (Israel’s Ambassador to the UN) had to say about Iran – Iran, he said is a wolf – and Iran is the wolf coming to the UN to complain after the shepherd protects his flock (paraphrased)!
Oh, and Spain – yes, Spain which refuses to recognize the right of its Basque people to independence. How about an “irreversible” two-State solution for a State of Spain and a Basque State?
Look around the world – Russia – with its war in Ukraine. The representative of Ukraine lamented at the UN Security Council that he is tired of waiting for Godot (paraphrase) for the UN to take action against Russia on Ukraine. However, that wait will be endless due to the Russian veto. States are committing atrocities right and left – yet the UN focuses on Gaza, as if that is the only problem in the world. Sure the people in Gaza are suffering but why – not because of Israel – but because of Hamas and its allies – including those who harbor them and give them refuge in fancy hotels. Shame! Shame!
As for the Palestinian State – that is a road to nowhere – and France and the rest of this gang knows it. I think these fools need to study a bit of international law, including the procedures of the UN. A State (under the Montevideo Convention) needs a geographically defined territory, a stable permanent population, an effective and organized government that has control over its territory and population, and the capacity to enter into relations with other States. I’d argue that this so-called “Palestinian State” has none of these attributes.
Also, they want to put the Palestinian Authority in charge of Gaza – Laughable – When’s the last time Abbas had an election? 2005?
By the way the Europeans are great are making up – and carving up – States and State lines. They’ve done it throughout history – witness Sykes-Picot, Sevres, Lausanne and more. This is just one more nefarious notch on their list of actions dismantling peace! Perhaps they think their solution will bring “Peace in Our Time”.
Even if the so-called “State of Palestine” (wherever it might imagine itself might be) declared itself a State – it would never be admitted to the United Nations as a member State – right now the so-called “State of Palestine” is a non-member observer State - but to be admitted to the UN as a member State, so-called “State of Palestine” would have to have the approval of the UN Security Council which would recommend membership as a member State to the UN General Assembly. Article 4 of the UN Charter says as follows:
“Article 4”
Membership in the United Nations is open to all other peace-loving states which accept the obligations contained in the present Charter and, in the judgment of the Organization, are able and willing to carry out these obligations.
The admission of any such state to membership in the United Nations will be effected by a decision of the General Assembly upon the recommendation of the Security Council”.
The so-called “State of Palestine” is peace-loving? Ridiculous – and the UN Security Council will never recommend this to the UN General Assembly.
SO – this is just an effort (a “publicity stunt” to quote the US Representative to the UN) to bolster Hamas, the Nazis of our times, and their allies and facilitators, including the Palestinian Authority. Why do there continue to be attacks in Jews throughout Israel? Are these attacks being perpetrated by “peace-loving” people?
The peace-loving people are the Israelis – they just want to live in peace. However, the rest of the world having been silent during the Shoah are now standing by and advocating the destruction of the State of Israel.
But, guess what – this is not the Shoah – and Israel will defend itself against the Hamas monsters and anyone else who comes to attack Israel. Those days of the defenseless Jews are over. We now have a Jewish State.
Am Yisrael Chai!
