JEWISH ACTION ALLIANCE
DEPLORES AND CONDEMNS THE ASSASSINATION OF PRIME MINISTER RABIN

New York, November 4, 1995 -- Beth Gilinsky, president of the Jewish Action Alliance stated today: "The Jewish Action Alliance is among those who are shocked and dismayed by the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin. The Jewish Action Alliance has always opposed violent interference with government processes both in the United States and throughout the world. We join with the voices of those who express unreserved condemnation of this irrational and unjustifiable outrage."

Ms. Gilinsky continued: "At times of shock and distress, it is important to summon our reasoning powers and maintain our clarity of thought. The tragedy of Rabin's assassination should not be confused with the question of the validity of the Peres-Rabin policies towards empowerment and legitimization of Arafat and the PLO in the land of Israel. Efforts by some to exploit and politicize this violent tragedy are irresponsible and misleading.

"The Jewish Action Alliance reiterates its categorical condemnation of violence and assassination, and further restates its devotion to the pursuit of a true and enduring peace for all peoples in the Middle East."
